I have had this too - happened after a power cut, when the cooker was not in use. Bush and Argos both advise getting an engineer to visit. Have you had any luck with yours?

Mine has being doing this too and was driving me crazy so now I just turn it off at the mains switch when I’m not using it.
Mine has done the same. I thought after too short a time the electronic clock system maybe had been affected by the heat but if everone has same issue then surely its a faulty component issue. Cheap crap anyway the grill bars are piirly designed if I dont place a small pan on small hob with precision then contents are usually tipped due to the unbalance.
