Error codes for Bosch Dishwasher

  • Product Types: Dishwasher

Please do take care to read the information thoroughly as it is there to help you understand fault codes and to keep you safe. There are also some help, tips and hints with a lot of the fault codes published here that you usually will not find anywhere else and, as we learn, we add more information so if you can't find what you need please ask in the forums.

Before using this section please understand that fault or error codes are used as a diagnostic aid, they are not a replacement for diagnostic skill on the part of the person repairing the product and are not in any way usually going to point to the precise component that is faulty. All they do is give you an idea of where to start looking for the fault.

E0

E3

Not filling

Issue:
If the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open and the dishwasher still won’t fill, shut off the water supply, unplug the dishwasher, disconnect the fill line and check whether the screen in the water inlet valve is clogged. If it’s clogged, replace the water valve—don’t just clean the screen, because debris could fall into the valve body, prevent the valve from closing, and cause flooding. If the dishwasher still won’t fill, have a service technician diagnose and repair the dishwasher.

E01, E02, E03, E04, E05

Power module failure

Issue:
The E01, E02, E03, E04, E05 faults codes mean that the dishwasher has suffered a power module failure. The programming of replacement power modules has been locked down by Bosch so in the event of an error code of this type it’s recommended that you contact a Bosch approved dishwasher engineer
Advice:
To gain access to the power module you will either need to remove the top and side panels or on some models the outer door skin and control panel. Remove the screws and slide the top off, then remove the screws from the side panels and lift off (note on some models you may have to remove the front ‘kick plate' to reach these). The power module is usually on the right side of the base near the back. Check for any signs of visible damage and replace if required.

With the panels off - reach under the cavity where you should be able to access the fan. Advice:
Check the solenoid valve flow meter for any signs of damage. Remove the fill hose. Carefully remove the small filter from the inside of the valve or the hose seal filter if fitted and inspect for blockages. If the filter is clear, the solenoid valve is likely to need replacing. Using a multimeter, test the terminals and if you don’t get a reading of between 100 and 300 Ohms - or a reading of zero or excessively over - then the pump has failed and you will require a new replacement pump.
