Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart™ Fridge Stage 4.2 Fault Codes

These error code explanations can help you diagnose a problem with Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart™ Fridge Stage 4.2.

Fault 1

POWER/CONTROL MODULE SELF TEST FAULT

Issue:
On the last poer up, the Power/Control module failedits self test.
Advice:
Replace Power/Control module.

Fault 2

DEFROST HEATER FAILURE

Issue:
The previous 2 defrosts were aborted after 40 minutes (30 minutes for Stage 4.2 priot to June 2006).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check the defrost heater assembly in the FC - look for blown fuses, loose/ad connections. Secondary Action: Ensure that the defrost harness (brown wires) is securely plugged into the Power/Control module. Tertiary Action: Replace Power/Contol module.

Fault 3

ALL TEMP SENSORS RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of all of the Sensors is outside of the normal range (> 45k ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check 6 way sensor RAST connector at Power/Control module. Secondary Action: Reterminate 6 way sensor RAST connector. Tertiary Action: Replace Power/Control module.

Fault 4

ALL TEMP SENSORS RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of all of the Sensors is outside of the normal range (< 600 ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check 6 way sensor RAST connector at Power/Control module. Secondary Action: Reterminate 6 way sensor RAST connector. Tertiary Action: Replace Power/Control module.

Fault 5

FC SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the FC Sensor is outside of the normal range (> 45k ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 6

FC SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the FC Sensor is outside of the normal range (< 660 ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 7

EVAP SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the EVAP Sensor is outside of the normal range (> 45k ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 8

EVAP SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the EVAP Sensor is outside of the normal range (< 660 ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 9

PC SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the PC Sensor is outside of the normal range (> 45k ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 10

PC SENSOR RESISTANCE FAULT

Issue:
The resistance of the PC Sensor is outside of the normal range (< 660 ohms).
Advice:
Primary Action: Check sensor connection at controller. Secondary Action: Replace sensor.

Fault 11

ALL CURRENTS LOW

Issue:
he current measured for the low abient heater, PC fan and FC fan is lower than expected.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check the 6 way Fan'LAH RAST connector at Power/Control module. Secondary Action: Reterminate 6 way Fan/LAH RAST connector. Tertiary Action: Replace Power/Control module.

Fault 12

ALL CURRENTS HIGH

Issue:
The current measured for the low abient heater, PC fan and FC fan is higher than expected.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check the 6 way Fan'LAH RAST connector at Power/Control module. Secondary Action: Reterminate 6 way Fan/LAH RAST connector. Tertiary Action: Replace Power/Control module.

Fault 13

AMB HTR LOW CURRENT

Issue:
The low ambient heater is drawing less current than expected. Either the heater or wiring is open circuit or the heater is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check wiring and connections at both heater and power module. Secondary Action: Check heater resistance. If not within limits replace heater.

Fault 14

AMB HTR HIGH CURRENT

Issue:
The low ambient heater is drawing higher current than expected. Either the heater or wiring is open circuit or the heater is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check wiring and connections at both heater and power module. Secondary Action: Check heater resistance. If not within limits replace heater.

Fault 15

PC FAN CURRENT LOW CURRENT FAULT

Issue:
The PC fan is drawing less current than expected. Either the wiring is open circuit or the fan is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check PC fan wiring and connections at both the fan and power module. Secondary Action: Check fan. If faulty replace.

Fault 16

PC FAN CURRENT HIGH CURRENT FAULT

Issue:
The PC fan is drawing more current than expected. Either the wiring is open circuit or the fan is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check PC fan wiring and connections at both the fan and power module. Secondary Action: Check fan. If faulty replace.

Fault 17

FC FAN CURRENT LOW CURRENT FAULT

Issue:
The FC fan is drawing less current than expected. Either the wiring is open circuit or the fan is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check FC fan wiring and connections at both the fan and power module. Secondary Action: Check fan. If faulty replace.

Fault 18

FC FAN CURRENT HIGH CURRENT FAULT

Issue:
The FC fan is drawing more current than expected. Either the wiring is open circuit or the fan is faulty.
Advice:
Primary Action: Check FC fan wiring and connections at both the fan and power module. Secondary Action: Check fan. If faulty replace.
