Ice fault

The alarm symbol

The alarm symbol ;and the sensor for one of the sections light up, and an audible alarm also sounds.

Issue:
The door alarm has been activated.
Advice:
Close the door. The alarm symbol ; will go out and the audible alarm stops.

F0 to F9

F0 to F9 appears in the display.

Issue:
There is a fault.
Advice:

The appliance is not getting cold. The interior lighting does not come on when the door is opened and the display is not lit up.

Issue:
  • The appliance is not switched on and the mains connection symbol t is lit up in the display.
  • The plug is not inserted in the socket correctly.
  • Check whether the mains fuse has tripped. If it has, there could be a fault with the appliance, the household electrical wiring or another electrical appliance.
Advice:
  • Touch the On/Off sensor.
  • Insert the plug in the socket correctly and switch on. When the appliance is switched off the mains connection symbol t appears in the display.
  • Contact a qualified electrician or Miele.

The appliance is not getting cold although the interior lighting and the appliance appear to be working normally.

Issue:
Demo mode is activated and the r symbol lights up in the display. This allows the appliance to be displayed in the showroom without the cooling system being switched on. Do not activate this setting for domestic use!
Advice:
Deactivate demo mode

The temperature inside the appliance is too low.

Issue:
  • The temperature inside the appliance is set too low.
  • The freezer section door is not properly closed.
  • Has a large amount of fresh food has been put in at the same time for freezing?
  • The Super cool function is still switched on. It will switch itself off automatically after approx.12 hours.
  • The Super freeze function is still switched on. The Super freeze function switches itself off automatically after approx. 30 - 65 hours.
Advice:
  • Set the correct temperature setting.
  • Close the door properly.
  • See "Freezing and storing food" for more information. You can switch off the Supercool function earlier to save energy.
  • Press the Super cool sensor. You can switch off the Superfreeze function earlier to save energy:
  • Press the Super freeze sensor.

The compressor is running all the time.

Issue:
To save energy, the compressor runs at a lower speed when less cooling is required. The compressor will run for longer when this happens.
Advice:
This is normal and does not require attention.

The compressor switches on too frequently and for longer.

Issue:
  • The ventilation gaps in the housing unit are covered or dusty.
  • The refrigerator door or the freezer door has been opened too frequently, or a large amount of fresh food has been put in at once for storing or freezing.
  • The doors are not properly closed.
  • There might be a thick layer of ice in the freezer section.
  • The ambient temperature is too warm.
  • The higher the ambient temperature, the longer the compressor will run for.
  • The appliance is not correctly installed in its housing unit.
Advice:
  • Uncover the ventilation gaps.
  • Dust the ventilation gaps regularly.
  • Only open doors when you need to and then only for as long as necessary. The appliance will regain the required temperature after a short while.
  • Close the doors. The appliance will regain the required temperature after a short while. If a thick layer of ice has built up, the cooling system will not work efficiently and energy consumption will increase.
